Collection consists of correspondence, legal documents, manuscripts, architectural drawings and maps, and genealogical notes. Included are "Reminiscences of Peter Wyckoff of Bushwick, L.I.," apparently written by Peter Wyckoff and copied by Harriet Stryker-Rodda; genealogical records and legal documents collected by William F. Wyckoff (1858-1930), family genealogist; correspondence between members of the Wyckoff family and Teunis G. Bergen, concerning Wyckoff genealogy and family business, 1819-1881; and a 1973 report by the firm of Oppenheimer, Brady and Associates concerning the restoration of the Pieter Claessen Wyckoff house (ca.1640) in Flatlands.

William F. Wyckoff is a descendant of Pieter Claesen Wyckoff, the common ancestor of the Wyckoff family, and one of the most influential leaders during 17th century settlement in New Amsterdam. Peter Wyckoff (1828-1910) was born and continually resided at the farm at 1325 Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn, which was built in 1791. He was of the fourth generation of the historic Dutch Wyckoff family of Brooklyn to own and work on the Flushing Avenue farm, which extended from Flushing to Myrtle Avenues on both sides of Cypress Avenue.
